A decadent after-hours making party with Dead Puppet Society.
Push the benches together and pop the champagne. Dead Puppet Society, acclaimed visual theatre masterminds behind the box office hits Holding Achilles, Ishmael, The Wider Earth and Laser Beak Man, is throwing open the doors to their Fabrication Workshop for an after-hours making party.
Hosted as part of BAD (BRISBANE ART DESIGN) 2023, this special edition DPS Social celebrates the return of Dead Puppet Society’s contemporary space saga Ishmael, playing at QPAC’s Cremorne Theatre from 19 to 27 May. Under the guidance of Dead Puppet Society artisans, guests will assemble an intricately detailed model spacecraft. The miniature, display model versions of the “Hopper Pods” created by participants will be scale replicas of those featured onstage during the show. In the production, these powerful spacecrafts are used to ‘fish’ for resources in the asteroid belt and deep space; piloted by the cast in puppet form during some of Ishmael’s most heart-racing moments.
DPS Social is a chance for art and design lovers to come together to connect and create, and to walk away with new memories and an original handmade treasure of their own. Space rocks!
