Echo & Bounce is a record store, cafe and community space in a near-century old building, south of the river in ‘Woolloongabba’ (a Turrbal word that means ‘whirling waters’). Our Open House events are a chance to invite along and platform a broad range of creative people with unique connections to this place, to share emerging forms of music, art, objects and wearables in a market style format. It’s an opportunity to explore your local connections and creations, in one of Woolloongabba’s finest carpark oasis.
Part open-air social, part community market ~ From 7am, we’ll have some of our favourite local selectors in the cafe, and as the focus shifts at midday for the open-air market, so will the music, with live music performances and DJs in the courtyard well into the evening. In the carpark, living room (and loft if it’s rainy), we’ll house an on-going collection of new and established ideas, projects and pursuits, side-by-side; along with live music performances and art installations.
