Learn traditional weaving techniques in this open studio!
The CAIA studios are home to Griffith University’s Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art. In this workshop, guests are invited to visit the CAIA studios for an introduction to First Nations weaving techniques – you’ll also be able to take home what you weave. The Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art is planned in accordance with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander principles and philosophies. Teaching respects Aboriginal laws concerning the ways in which techniques and images may be used. Hear about these principles and philosophies as you weave and learn from our experts in this engaging workshop.
