Live From Dover Street

Garden party meets art and live music in the suburbs.

View new paintings and drawings in the art studio of Cecilia Hine-Bouwman, including paintings in oils, pencil and ink drawings and a collection of sketch books inspired by the studio surrounds.

Works in folios will also be available for viewing as well as some pieces of wearable art from previous exhibitions. In the garden sculptural installations will include a mixed media bat colony suspended from the trees and a work inspired by dream catchers. A large “chandelier” made from found objects and recycled materials will hang between the trees.

At sunset, BouwHouse will perform a live electronic set with visuals projected into the garden. For the open studio, BouwHouse will comprise Michael Bouwman on improvised synths, samplers, drum machines and acoustic instruments blended and the treated electric guitar and theremin of collaborator Neil Neilsen. The projected visuals will be mixed from images from a vision sampler, three video cameras and a sound responsive visual synthesizer, onto translucent screen lighting up the forested city garden adjacent to the studios.

Come for live music from 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, or indulge in Sunday afternoon tea with the artists from 3pm.
