Come and find out about the MAVA Substation workshop opening in 2023

The new Workshop as part of the MAVA Substation at Metro Arts’ Norman Park site will be launched later in 2023. The Workshop will be a space for creatives who want to develop projects in the craft of woodworking, metal work or digital fabrication. The Workshop will be open to the general public on a membership basis, and offer inductions in the use of hand-held tools and equipment, bespoke workshops tailormade for small groups, and provide an opportunity for the curious to learn new skills across traditional and modern fabrication disciplines.

This is an opportunity to visit the site and to learn more about it, with workshop manager, Chris Howlett in attendance. Drop in anytime between 10am and 1pm on Saturday the 27th of May. Alongside this, an Open Studio with the resident MAVA Pathfinder artists, and an activation by Caitlin Franzmann and Dhana Merritt, will also be open to the public.

Metro Arts Visual Art (MAVA) Substation is a new hub for Australian contemporary visual arts practice. Metro Arts is proud to announce we’re transforming our Norman Park satellite site into the MAVA Substation. The site will include a workshop open to public membership.
