Innovative glass sculpture and design exhibition by the Glassery collective.
This exhibition showcases new works and propositions in the medium of glass at the Land Street Gallery, Toowong. The Glassery are five artists with independent and occasionally collaborative practices engaging with artisanal skills and new and old technology to create contemporary sculpture, design objects and installations.
Together the group works to fosters creative and innovative studio glass practice, share skills and a passion for the seductive medium. This exhibition will incorporate abstracted sculpture, light installation, interdisciplinary sculpture and fine art and design objects. Across the group conceptual concerns vary with works that engage with abstraction, biodiversity, storytelling, sustainability and marine ecologies.
Join us on the closing night of the New Glass exhibition, Friday 26 May, for a celebration and artist talks.
In addition to the exhibition, an open studio and workshop event are scheduled, incorporating live glassblowing and demonstrations as a public program at the Glassery Studio at the Paint Factory.
