proppaNOW returns to Brisbane with a major exhibition, OCCURENT AFFAIR.

Established in 2003, Brisbane-based Aboriginal artist collective proppaNOW has returned from a five-year hiatus to present OCCURRENT AFFAIR. The exhibition showcases new and recent works by Vernon Ah Kee, Tony Albert, Richard Bell, Megan Cope, Jennifer Herd, Gordon Hookey, and Laurie Nilsen. Engaging wordplay through its title, OCCURRENT AFFAIR references the sensational journalistic style of some television current affair programs, embracing the slippage between language and its associated readings to probe and present new narratives.
