Outer Space invites you to join us Up Late at the Outer Space Studios! On Thursday 18 May from 5 – 8pm our Wickham St Studios will be open for you to experience first-hand. Spend time exploring our suite of six studio spaces, chat with the artists about their experiences as practitioners, catch exclusive previews of works-in-progress and dive deeper into the processes behind the final product! The night will also be an opportunity for prospective studio applicants to experience the Outer Space Studios for themselves and gain an insight into the ins and outs of the space from the current artists.
The Outer Space Studios exemplify our commitment to presenting critically engaged creative practice in a supportive professional environment. The multi-use studios house a diverse range of experimental and contemporary practices from painting, collage, and mixed-media, to public art and public programming production. As part of Outer Space’s ongoing commitment to the professional development of emerging, early and mid-career artists, the studios are an integral part of Outer Space’s operations. The studios provide artists with an opportunity to work in a dedicated creative space, and within a community of artists and arts workers in an open and constructive dialogue with art.
