Julie Paterson is an internationally-renowned textile designer, with a diverse background in the arts and a long history of creating artwork in Brisbane. Her practice spans creative workshops, public speaking, collaborative partnerships and retail presences across Australia. For BAD 2019, Side Gallery has teamed up with Julie to present a residency-based exhibition inspired by on the architecture, flora, and fauna of the inner suburbs of Brisbane.

The week-long residency will culminate in an event, where Julie will cut her complete large format landscape into fragments for sale. Patrons can buy pieces of this Reparable Landscape to join back together. Accompanying the exhibition will be a thematic LookDrawPrint workshop, specifically developed to converge art & design elements in a public programs context.
