Space celebrates Le Bambole's 50th birthday with a Stella McCartney installation.
Designed in 1972, Le Bambole by Mario Bellini revolutionised the concept of furniture with its soft curves, innovative materials and new technology. Fast forward 50 years and Mario Bellini has teamed up with B&B Italia to evolve the collection with a contemporary eye and new manufacturing choices allowing every piece in the collection to be disassembled for easy recycling. To celebrate B&B Italia has teamed up with Stella McCartney in the British conscious pioneer’s first-ever interiors collaboration.
From 8-14 May, Space Furniture’s Brisbane window will showcase the Le Bambole armchair in an immersive display featuring the hand-drawn “Fungi Forest” toile de Jouy print from the Stella McCartney collection. The collaboration which launched at last year’s Milan Fair, was born of Stella’s long-time personal passion for Bellini’s works and celebrates Le Bambole’s 50th anniversary. The collection combines the indisputable quality and durability typical of B&B Italia products with responsible material and construction choices inspired by Stella McCartney’s conscious mission. T
he Space showroom installation will also feature a colourful display celebrating Le Bambole’s history and new construction methods based on circular design, driven by B&B Italia’s strong commitment to sustainability.
