20 – 21 May 9am – 4pm
279 Edinburgh Castle Road,
Wavell Heights
Please note, due to unforeseen circumstances this event has now been cancelled.
The Secret Garden Wavell is a private garden open twice weekly for writers, artists and contemplatives – a third space for those who love to create and reflect outdoors. Kate, the workshop facilitator, is a (only sometimes successful) gardener, fledgling poet and artist engaged in slow and mindful writing and art.
In this workshop you will give life to your Heeby Jeebies, allowing them freedom to emerge through free, mindful art activities in the Secret Garden Wavell. We will write blessings and wishes and weave them onto clay sculptures that serve as mindful reminders for yourself or a loved one. Write and wrap gratitudes (in vibrant, second-hand fabric) to hang in the garden’s Gratitude Tree.
All materials (paper, pens, clay blessings and wishes, yarn and fabric) will be provided – please bring a hat, a water bottle, and your desire to use your hands and your heart. You are encouraged to take moments in the garden to reflect on your inner world before writing and weaving. Be sure to sit under the Gratitude Tree to soak up our shared appreciation and mindfulness. Children welcome.
