The Advanced Engineering Building (AEB) enhances The University of Queensland’s (UQ) ability to deliver practical active-learning styles for engineering students, and maximise global research opportunities enabling UQ to respond to major shifts in the world economy and global marketplace for innovative engineering solutions.

The AEB houses a state-of-the-art GHD Auditorium, a 500-seat lecture theatre supported by large-span timber trusses from mixed hardwoods grown in the Maryborough region, as well as active learning laboratories and student spaces, and contemporary research facilities to support global engineering research centres. The AEB is also a unique facility designed to interact with the natural environment, dramatically reducing energy consumption and creating an interactive learning environment for students.
