Ceramic workshop in the Japanese nerikomi technique using coloured clay to layer and create patterns.
All levels are welcome in this workshop, from ceramicists wishing to extend their practice, to beginners who have never touched clay before. Within this 3 hour workshop students will learn the Japanese layered coloured clay techniques called Nerkomi. This technique is delicate and intricate, perfect for making jewellery or small dishes. Nerikomi brings the colour into the clay so no glazing is needed. Students can expect to make a few different pieces with unique patterns, perfect for gifting or to keep as your own. The studio will then fire your work for you, ready for you to collect a few weeks later. If students wish to make their pieces into jewellery, silver hooks and studs will be provided, included in the workshop price. Price of $140 is all inclusive of clay, materials & firing.
