Art exhibition featuring the work of twin sisters Susie and Maureen Hansen.
The urbanisation of modern life has succeeded in exiling us from this fecund kinship with our mother earth. Fashioned from the earth, we are souls in clay form. We need to remain in rhythm with our inner clay voice and longing. – Anam Cara and John O’Donahue, 1997
This exhibition brings together twin sisters Susie and Maureen Hansen. The component elements consist of Susie’s “Kiln Confidential” and Maureen’s “Grounded”.
Susie has exhibited and taught ceramics in Brisbane and Melbourne for 35 years and will also be doing a 2 hour workshop as part of the programme.
Maureen often uses ceramic and clay objects in her still-life artworks and has produced a suite of landscapes referring to the clay of environment and landscape with a few references to the human body.
