The University of Queensland Robotics team invites visitors to experience a demonstration of the RoboBlox robotic fabrication. Robotic-carved foam blocks, known as RoboBlox, are created out of polystyrene by a robot, using a hot wire-cutter. This demo addresses the current trends in automation and data exchange, through manufacturing technologies commonly referred to as the fourth industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0. This experience also embraces the opportunities and predicaments of such technologies, and integrating them into digital operations and production processes. Overall, RoboBlox aims to expose the creative process of traditional elements as Breeze Blocks, and demystify the technological chasm preventing manufacturers of embracing Industry 4.0.

This event is held in the Structures Lab and can only hold a maximum of 12 people so registrations are essential.
